This is a special collection of beautiful herbs to support our wombs and the vaginal tissues of the pelvic bowl. All herbs included are organic and free of chemicals, oils and preservatives. These herbs can be used to create an herbal sitz bath, vaginal steam, steam session on a steam seat at home, yoni steam or herbal peri bottle wash. Bringing warmth and the medicinal herbs to the uterus and pelvic bowl, vaginal tissue and pelvic organs can help soften and heal scar tissue, cleanse and tone the uterus, increase circulation, support the regulation of hormones, assist the healing of hemorrhoids, offer gratitude for our bodies, feel grounded and nourished, release emotions and reduce the risk of infection. Sitz baths: Sitz baths are generally considered to be safe if there was vaginal tearing or stitching at the birth. Sitz baths are great ways to tend to a birthing person in the first few days postpartum, whereas vaginal steams are generally advised once heavy bleeding has slowed postpartum. Try 1 cup of herbs to up to 1 gallon of water. Strain out the herbs and pour into the sitz bath. Optional: add a pinch of salt to the solution. Sit for about 20 minutes, as long as is comfortable and warm. Vaginal Steams: By adding boiling water to these herbs and sitting or hovering over the steam, the healing properties of the herbs are delivered to our tissues, tendons and cores. If you are unsure about steaming, consult your midwife or a vaginal steam practitioner. You can also brew these herbs like a cup of tea, with less water, and fill up a peri bottle and squirt directly onto the tissues. This same solution can be added to a postpartum pad as well, and the liquid applied directly to the perineum. These herbs can also be steeped into a nourishing tea to drink in the postpartum period.
